Travel Advisory

This year has been tough on the economy, tough on budgets and tough for most of the hotels, airlines and casinos throughout the world. This holiday season the travel discounts everyone is offering is enough to make your head spin!  It’s winter in the northern hemisphere and with economies struggling on a global basis, everybody is jumping on the bandwagon by offering extremely good discounts.  However, Make your reservations early because bookings are on the increase and demand drives prices.

Even though getting away for the week of Christmas and New Years is generally more expensive, there are still some very attractive deals. If you’re like me, a man with champagne tastes and a beer budget (imported beer only), you can wait to take your big vacation after the new year in January and save an additional 10%-20%.

I go to Vegas about 4-6 times a year, usually on business, but I always manage to take a couple of days to relax and enjoy all the wonderful amenities it has to offer.  Check your favorite online travel site for daily weekday rates as low as $50 for a true 3 star hotel or $117 for a 4 star.  One word of advice, make your reservation for 1 person (without paying for it) and save it in your account. Then do the same for the number in your party. You’ll most likely see the cost per person increase! Then PICK UP THE PHONE (I know how hard that is believe me) and call the toll-free number of the provider. Talk to customer service and get the rate discounted even further.  The advantage of saving a couple of hundred bucks can go a long way when you use it for a romantic dinner for two or a massage for you and your spouse at one of the wonderful spas in LV.

In closing, living in the lap of luxury doesn’t mean you can’t do it affordably. You just need to be a bit savvy and deliberate. Max Benjamin is about getting the most out of your free time and living life to the fullest.
